Bike To The Fireworks June 23, 2014

Beat the traffic and ride your bicycle downtown to see the spectacular fireworks over the Detroit River on Monday, June 23rd, 2014! To make Active Transportation the obvious choice,  the Windsor Bicycling Committee will provide valet bike parking service just minutes from the Riverfront and Festival Plaza.

Beginning at 7pm, you can bring your bike to Charles Clark Square (University Avenue East, across from City Hall) and lock it up safely in the WBC's valet bike parking corral. Volunteers from the committee will be on hand all evening, watching the bikes and ensuring their safety.

Cyclists are asked to bring a lock for their bike- the volunteers will use the lock to keep your bike even safer while they watch over it. Each rider will receive a ticket to hold onto during the evening; you'll have to return this ticket in order to retrieve your bike. This free service will be available for everyone from 7pm until 11:30pm.

Bike safety literature and Windsor bike trail maps will also be available!

Remember to wear your helmet and light-coloured clothing, and don't forget to put lights on your bikes for the ride home after the fireworks!

More information can be found at cyclewindsor.ca, or by calling 3-1-1.
