Hospice Reunion October 8, 2014

35th Reunion Brings Together Star-Studded Cast of Hospice Heroes

Young and old, from all walks of life, the Hospice Heroes of thirty-five years will be storming the doors of Hospice on Wednesday, October 8th at 5:30 p.m. for a reunion with star power. Since 1979, Hospice has relied on the generosity and support of its tireless volunteers to build a local phenomenon, caring for more than 1,700 patients per year. The Hospice was founded entirely by volunteers, with more than 667 active volunteers in the ranks today!

The Hospice Reunion will be a throwback celebration with old-school carnival food setting the tone.

“It’s simply amazing to me,” says executive director, Carol Derbyshire. “To bring together all of the volunteers of yesterday and today into one room, share stories and rekindle friendships – this is one party guaranteed to be full of laughs. As long as no one tells the story about my stint as Carol-patra we’ll be fine! This is not about money, this is not about fundraising, this reunion is about honouring the people who sacrificed for their Hospice, making it an organization this entire community can be proud of.”

Hospice is inviting old and new friends, fundraisers and volunteers to join in their anniversary reunion to share stories, laughs and some great food. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. and the remarks begin at 6:00 p.m. The Hospice Reunion will take place in the Hospice Auditorium, 6038 Empress Street on Wednesday, August 8, 2014.
